Some lawsuits have been filed and courts have found bar tenders guilty for continuing to serve alcohol to those that were obviously very drunk, so you have to always be aware. Having knowledge about different drinks and being able to create unique drinks according to the various customer's taste and preferences will help increase business.
Inventories must be made before the bar opens. We may think we posses the qualities necessary, but in this environment you must have those qualities readily available. Tend your bar with flair, and learn how to spin the bottle or slide glasses across the counter. In addition to the hands on bartending training, alcohol awareness training is also provided.
Whatever you do, don't shake a drink with carbonation. Announcements from the DJ are always a good idea to get people to you bar. You should always know the names and preferences of your regulars. When going on an interview, make sure you have a tidy appearance and attire.
While learning how to make and serve drinks the students also pick up on how to be a top knotch bartender. A Sling is served either hot or cold and is a tall drink made of soda water, sugar, a little lemon juice and either whiskey, gin, or brandy. The Lowball is the opposite of the Highball and is a short drink of a spirit and is served with ice, soda, or water in a small glass.
